The Tomorrow's Children Series
(Micro-Trains® Line)
The Tomorrows Children's Institute for Cancer and Blood Disorders
at Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, New Jersey is the
premiere pediatric center for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and
blood disorders. The Tomorrows Children's Fund is a
non-profit organization formed by parents of children with these
ailments. It addresses the critical and psychosocial needs of
families facing the anguish of these diseases. ESMC has offered
these cars, intricately manufactured by Micro-Trains®, in recognition of the efforts of this
organization and institution. The cars in this series are decorated
as if Conrail decided to paint freight cars in the schemes of its
predecessor roads to commemorate the TCI efforts. All of the models
in this series feature a four-color photographic scene depicting a
well-known location or landmark identified with the predecessor railroad,
in addition to (when applicable): full sides and ends dimemsional data, no
roofwalks, aluminum-painted roofs, two-piece underframes, color-matched
stirrups and Barber roller-bearing trucks with low-flange wheelsets.
The upper right-hand corner carries the reporting marks of a Conrail car
in that bodystyle, and the majority of the time is that of a car repainted
from the predecessor railroad's roster. Proceeds from the sales of these cars have been donated to
the TCI.
These products are not toys and are not recommended for children under 14 years of age.
